Ultraviolet (UV) & Blue Light Exposure

Plenty of studies have shown that having extensive amounts of UV or blue light exposure can correlate to having increased risk factors of developing cataracts and macular degeneration. In order to avoid this from happening, make sure to have some sort of proper eye protection.

This includes having sunglasses or eyewear that blocks at 100% of all UV rays from hitting your eyes wherever you go outside and if you are stuck at home and working on a computer all day, then some blue light filters for your glasses should do the trick just fine.

Reduce Or Quit Smoking

It is essentially common sense at this point that smoking is bad for your health, and eye diseases are one result of it. There have been some studies done and found that smoking leads to an increase of your eyes from developing dry eye syndrome as well as other more common eye diseases such as cataracts, glaucoma, and macular degeneration.
