Retinal Detachment
The main cause/issue of retinal detachment is that scar-like tissues are formed thanks to the breaking of malformation of certain blood vessels within the retina, causing the retina to pull away from these scarred tissues.
If someone by any means has retinal detachment, then it is absolutely required for the person to have emergency medical care/treatment so that it can be treated properly. If it is not treated with the care it deserves and with the proper treatment, then permanent vision loss can occur.
Most of the signs and symptoms of retinal detachment are often floaters or flashes of vision coming into the eye from a person.
Diabetic Macular Edema (DME)
How this normally occurs is that the macula, which is a piece that is located within the retina, loses its functions. What the macula does is that it helps the retina focus on clear central vision in the eyes, and what DME does is that it fills the macula with a fluid known as edema. This thus creates a problem within the eyes and adding diabetic retinopathy, it can cause vision loss.
